The US Vice President Mike Pence’s Chief of Staff, Marc Short, told reporters at the White House late-Friday, the best-case scenario for talks on Saturday between the US President Trump and Chinese President Xi is a resumption of trade negotiations, Reuters reports.

Short said: “Restarting negotiations would be a best-case scenario,”

Trump and Xi are set to hold a meeting on the trade issue in Osaka shortly at 0230 GMT.
