US: Annual CPI at 1.5% in August
FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - On an annual basis US inflation was at 1.5% in August following a 2% reading in July, the US Bureau of Labor Statistics informed on Tuesday. This result is slightly below forecasts of +1.6%. Month-over-month CPI grew 0.1%, down from the previous result of +0.2% and slightly against expectations of remaining at the same level.
Annual CPI excluding Food and Energy rose 1.8%up from +1.7%, as projected. Month-over month CPI excluding Food and Energy grew 0.1%, following +0.2%. Both results are in line with projections.
CPI Core s.a. remained at 234 in August while CPI Core n.s.a. rose from 233.596 to 233.880.
