UK: Claimant Count Change down 32.6K in August
FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - The number of unemployment people in the UK fell by 32.6K in August, following a 36.3K drop registered in July, National Statistics reported on Wednesday. This result is more positive than the expected 22K increase. The Claimant Count Rate was at 4.2%, following a 4.93% reading.
The ILO Unemployment Rate slid to 7.7% in July, from 7.8% in June. Average Earnings excluding Bonus rose 1% in the three months to July, following a 1.1% reading in the three months to June, as expected. Average Earnings including Bonus increased 1.1%, in comparison with 2.2% growth, slightly below projections of +1.2%.
